Hello List,
I'm researching my African American Davis/Davies/Davie family of
Atlanta and Rome,Ga areas My ggfather was Fate Davis.(Lafayette
was most likely his given name). My ggm's names is unknown to me.
They had eighteen children,Martha,Marie,Mabel,Thomas,John,James and
my g-mom Rosa Lee are the names that I remember hearing. I was
told that my ggm passed given birth to my g-mom,Rosa Lee in 1897.
My ggf remarried on Dec.9,1902 to Lovie Kilgo*. My g-mom had two
children, my mom, Carrie Mae and my uncle Clyde Wm.Buford, both born
in Rome,Ga. Fate,Fayette,and "Lafayette"are all family names in and
outside of GA. I would like to connect them with a common family
member. Any info or assistance with Fate Davis and/or his Davis
family and descendants would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in
advance.
