It seems by an obit of my great great aunt Susan/Leona Stuart aka Leona Dare
during Sherman's march to the sea at the end of the civil war, in the
confusion in Atlanta while under seige, she also had a brother Meredith
Leonard Stuart. These children were separated from their mother Ann
Stuart(?) and left at a railroad siding. They were taken in by a family
named Mccullough/Mccullock. Would there be records for orphan children
around this time? The children would be Susan/Leona age 8-10 and her
brother would be 5-7. Their father was Andrew Jackson Stuart whi served in
the confederacy.
