The University of Georgia has newspapers on microfilm.
They are not indexed so research is slow if you have no
date of death.

I have found in my research some obits and death notices
that proved to be valuable, and in some cases no mention of
the death for some ancestors.

You don't know what will be there, sometimes much information
and other times very little or none at all.

The oldest death notice I have is for 1812.

Calhoun Saturday Times
Calhoun Times Aug 1870-1894
Calhoun Times and Gordon Co News May 1894-present (semi-weekly)
Calhoun Weekly Times
Cherokee Phoenix & Indian Advocate
Gordon Citizen (Calhoun) 1894-1895
Gordon Co News 1940-1943 Sep 5, 1940-1976 weekly suspended between
1943-1946 war time labor shortages.
