The Cairo Messenger, March 8, 1968
Mr. William Lee Booth passed away Friday, March 1 following an illness of
several months. Funeral services for him were held at the Tired Creek
Primitive Baptist Church Sunday, March 3, with Elder O. V. Marshall officiating.

Interment was in Tired Creek Cemetery with the following as pallbearers: Denny
Bryant, John Ulmer, Billy Booth, Edgar Bennett, Floyd Wilson and Murry Booth.
Honorary pallbearers were Ellis Maxwell, Cory Maxwell, Charlie Broome, Leland
Garland, Ralph Garland, Deloy Garland, Ford Maxwell, Carl Bryant, Angus
Maxwell, C. F. Holton, Ralph Hammett, James Johnson, Onis Bryant, John Maxwell,
Lloyd Connell, S. A. Connell, J. H. Lee, Anderson Hall.

Born in Grady County, August 24, 1886, he was the son of James Thomas and Artie
Missie Sasser Booth. He married the former Miss Lotchie Davis, March 27, 1937
in Grady County. A lifetime resident of this county, he was employed as a
carpenter and was a member of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Davis Lee Booth of Cairo, three daughters,
Miss Kathie Booth of Cairo, Mrs. Nell Paul of Warner Robins, Ga., Mrs. Artie
Ann Nickonovitz of Dallas, Texas, one niece, Mrs. Janice Ward of Athens, one
nephew, Carl L. Booth of Bainbridge, Maryland, four grandchildren, two sisters,
Mrs. Eula Sholar, Moultrie and Mrs. Irene Ulmer of Whigham, one brother, Carl
Booth of Athens. (This survivor was taken in death on March 3).

Clark Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
