My reference is "Georgia Atlas & Gazetteer" published by DeLorme, 1998.
Shoulderbone Creek originates in the SE corner of Greene county and runs
in a southerly direction until it crosses into Hancock county. It
continues to run almost due south until it crosses GA Hwy. 16. Then it
turns toward the SW and eventually joins the Oconee River near the
Putnam county line. The headwaters appear to originate west of White
Plains about equidistant from that town and Lake Oconee
