I have some limited information on Samuel Gardner who m. Sara Bowles 1869 and Greene County, Georgia, and then apparently married Selina (Lina) Durham the next year in 1870. Selina (Aunt Lina) was b. c. 1844, the daughter of Sarah/Sally S./(Selina?) Bowles and John Calvin Durham #1. I have researched this branch of the Durhams for years. I have a double line from Selina's oldest sister, Martha Jane, and her next to youngest brother, Joseph Vinson Durham. When I was a child in the 1950's I remember going with my parents to take my grandmother to visit Cousin Percy and Minnie Gardner in Atlanta,Georgia. They lived in an older white house with a big front porch, a small upstaris and an apartment on one side near Grant Park in Atlanta. One of their sons may have lived in it at one time. Their sons worked for the fire department I think and either Percy or his father Sam was a photographer. I would like to know the parents of Sara Bowles who married Sam Gardner. I am sure !
she was probably a cousin. Maybe died in childbrith??? Was she a daughter of one of my Jackson's Bowles/Booles brothers???/ Which one? Or was she from one of the other Bowles/Booles lines in the area, William or Jesse???
