Subject: [GAJASPER-L] Smith Davenport family

Seeking information on the Smith Davenport family. Smith Davenport
married Frances Benson Davenport in Oglethorpe Co., GA in 1807 and later
moved to Jasper Co. They had several children but I only know two: Rebecca
Jane Davenport (my gggrandmother) who married Robert James Hodges in 1839 and
moved to Sumter Co, GA where she died in 1852; and Smith Davenport, Jr. who
married Arabella Hodges (Robert James Hodges' sister). Smith, Jr. was a
Methodist preacher and was found in 1860 in Randolph Co, Ga, and in 1870 in
Madison Co, FL.
Smith Davenport died in Houston Co, Ga in 1840 and his wife Frances
B. Davenport died in Houston Co, GA in 1850. Any information on this family
would be appreciated. I have info on the parents/siblings/ancestors of both
Smith and Frances and will be happy to share what I have. Thanks
