Two Old Pike County Citizens Pass Away

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Col. James Smith died in Barnesville last Friday and was buried here in the
Methodist cemetery last Saturday.
Col. Smith married the sister of Mrs. Robert Beckham who died several years
ago. Col. Smith left seven children and a host of friends to mourn his taking
away.
He was born and raised in Pike County and never left the County to live
elsewhere until Lamar County was created and he was cut off into Lamar County.

Additional Comments:
James was the son of Nevel G. Smith and Rebecca Caroline Toland.
