<<That was my experience with the Catholic's. Makes you want to call up
POPE PAUL.>>

That would be a very expensive call I would think as the man had been dead
quite a few years <grin> Just teasing you....the current Pope is John Paul.

I am a Roman Catholic and I must agree with you in that the church can be
very difficult when it comes to sharing the information they have. Excuses
have been...no time, no staff, records too fragile etc. Yes, some request a
fee...some are reasonable and some are not. Some just ask for a donation.

You also have to consider how difficult it is to get civil records. Many
cities, counties and states won't look up a thing and if they do charge a
healthy fee. Even the FHC makes you do your own work and sometimes you need
to order a dozen films at $4.50 a roll before you find what you are looking
for.

I recently heard that in the Jewish Tradition no records are kept of
marriages, bar/bas mitzvahs or any other ceremony.

So please don't point a finger at any one group.....no one is perfect and no
one has made Genealogy easy.
