Hi, Mary,
I wish! Asking about Michael (and I do think his wife may have been
Catherine) was to prompt a Clune connection response in County Clare.
Michael and Catherine may have been the parents of my g-grandfather,
Richard Gallagher, about whom I can find nothing of help. So I'm doing
a side search into the Clunes, who left Clare for Wayne Co., Pa. in
1841. They are known to be relatives. I have only some imperfect dates
that Richard was 25 in the 1860 census, that he was 40 when he made his
Declaration of Intent in Susquehanna Co., and that he was perhaps 78
when he died in 1916. I don't rely on any of these ages.
I'm planning to get the LDS films for several Clare parishes to do some
very hopeful searching. Hopeful? Most Clunes came from Clare, and
there are Gallaghers there also. Perhaps Richard was born in Clare.
The Griffith shows several Gallagher/Clune parishes, and I'm looking
there first. Regret to add that I have never heard the name of any sibling.
Thank you for your message. It is much appreciated.
