Hello all,

I'm writing to let you know that the administration of this list is being
transferred. Michael Gollaher () has graciously
volunteered to be your new list admin. He has been a long time subscriber
of this list and is very knowledgeable about the history and background of
the Gallagher surname -- Many of you have likely already corresponded with
him regarding your Gallagher (and variant named) families. Michael is also
an experienced list admin and will do a fine job in keeping this list active.

I started the Gallagher mailing list at Rootsweb in 1998 because at the
time there were few, if any, internet resources dedicated to the Gallagher
surname. I will stay subscribed as the Gallagher name is *very* important
to me -- but I'm divesting myself of many of the lists that I administrate
so that I can concentrate more fully on my own research.

It's been a pleasure to administrate this list and I hope you all have
found it to be helpful in the search for your Gallagher roots !
