I will attempt to fill you in on our Gallaghers. The family lived in Cashelard, Ballyshannon in Co. Donegal. Anthony was my husband's gggrandfather. His son Daniel M. was born there in 1843. There was possibly a brother who emigrated to America also, John b.1848. Dates are approximate. Daniel came to America about 1862, naturalized in 1866. He married Margaret (Cahelin, Coghlin, or Coghlan) also from Cashelard. Her father's name was Michael. They settled in Wilkes-Barre Penna and their children of which I have a record are as follows: John b.1867; Joseph b.1869?; Bernard b.1874; Daniel b. 1877 and James b.1884. Joseph was my husband's grandfather.
Like I said before, I have not yet come across a Thomas Gallagher, but that does not say that one did not exist in the family. Whether or not any of them settled in Philadelphia, I do not know. The ones of which I am aware stayed in the Luzerne county area of Penna.
I will be on the lookout for your Thomas. If you get anymore information, please get it to me.
Good luck, Rita
