Greetings fellow Gallaher relatives & researchers.
I have come across census results that place my John Gallaher, his wife & daughter as boarders, in Polk Co., IA in 1900. Unfortunately due to a combination of poor penmanship & poor quality, I cannot read the last name of the people that they were boarding with. It looks like McF?????. The head of household is Adam (or Adair), born 1845/Ohio. His wife is Ellen, born 1850/Ohio. One son is listed, name starts with Wi, born 1878/Iowa. The boarders are my ancestors, John Gallaher, born 1868/IL, his wife Ida R., born 1873/Iowa, and their daughter M???? E., born 1892/Iowa. John & Ida Gallaher's daughter is my GreatGrandmother. Her name is known to me as Muriel, but isn't legible in the census result. All other dates & info. matches mine.
I would like to find out what the surname of the head of household is where my Gallahers were boarding, and if there is any family connection. All I know of my John Gallaher's ancestors comes from these census results, showing that he and both of his parents were born in Illinois. John's wife is Ida Rebecca Kinnear-Gallaher. Ida's father John Grey Kinnear was born in Ohio & her mother Emma Virginia Bickle, was born in Indiana.
Any information and/or suggestions for my further research are welcome, needed & greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darci Gibbs-Nunez
