I wonder if James is a brother or cousin of my William Gallaher. In the 1850 census he was 50 so depending on whether the census was taken before or after his birthday he was born 1799 or 1800. I don't know where he was from other than the fact that he was in CT at one point because three of his four children were born there. He may have been from NY or PA. I don't know. I don't know his parents' names nor if he had any siblings. oh well,,,it was worth a try.
