I live in Bedford, Texas. My paternal grandparents were Martha Malinda Gallaher (1841-1931) and James Henry Freeman (1835-1899). He was born in Roane Co., TN and she was born in Green Co., MO.
The parents of Martha Malinda Gallaher were James Herbert Gallaher (1793-1873) and Isabella McClure (1801-1880). Both were born in Knox Co., TN.
The parents of James Herbert Gallaher were George Burum Gallaher (1762-1837) and Sarah Oat (1770-1821). He was born in Cumberland Co., PA and she was born in Cripple Creek, Wythe Co., VA.
The parents of James Herbert Gallaher were James Herbert Gallaher Sr. (1730-1792) and Sarah Elizabeth Miller (abt. 1735-1800). He was born in County Donegal, Ireland and her information simply reads Ireland.
The parents of James Herbert Gallaher Sr. were John O’Gallaher (abt. 1700-bef. 1798) and Margaret Unknown (abt. 1700-death date unknown). Both were born in County Donegal, Ireland.
We just had a big surprise on that Freeman line. My only Freeman nephew took the Freeman Genealogy DNA test and it came back Q3 Amerindian (Native American). I have documentation back to my third Freeman great grandfather and there has been no hint that we were of Indian descent.
Wonder what we would discover if a Gallaher male took the genealogy DNA test.
