Subject: Gordon Clark OBE

My Grandfather was Gordon L Clark, and I am his namesake and custodian of
his O.B.E. mily, oak leaf, and various "star" medals. Unfortunately the
family has lost the citations etc, so we only have folklore that he was
awarded the OBE for ramming german sub then keeping station above it until
no sounds were heard, and the oak leaf for keeping in port for months at
archangel unloading ships because the germans had destroyed the cranes.

Mum thinks he was merchant marine then royal navy reserve, and the sub
incident may have been ww1, but O.B.E. mily was only started ion 1917 I
think.

Do you know of any sources that would help me get any information at all
about him,

Many thanks

Best Regards

Gordon Clark
