Thanks so much for this important tip. I just joined this discussion group and am
very interested in making the connection between my 3X great grandfather, Alva or
Alvah Gallup who came to Jackson Co. MI in the 1840's. His wife was named Mary
and when he died in 1849 he left 6 children. In Land Records shortly after his
death it shows that she sold the property to another Gallup. I can only assume
that this person was a relative. I have extensive data on the resulting families,
but the stopping point is Alva. Would appreciate any help and am willing to
reciprocate if I can.
