Hi Carmen, saw your posting on the Gallup list and
couldn't believe that you have that many in your
database. Could you do a lookup for me? I have my
lineage from my grandmother, MARY E. GALLUP (maiden
name) b. 1892 Los Angeles, CA d. 1993, CA; her father:
JAMES ALFRED "FRED" GALLUP b. 1857 WI, (married to
MARY EMMA STRONG in 1889, Los Angeles) d. 1904, Los
Angeles, CA; his father: ALFRED FRAZIER GALLOP/GALLUP,
b. 1826 St. John or Carleton, New Brunswick, Canada,
(married to SOPHIA MATILDA FARLEY in Canada 1852) d.
1882 Madera, CA; and who I believe to be his father:
SAMUEL GALLUPE/GALLOP, born ?, (married to Mary?) and
who died between 1831 and 1851, I think.
I am looking for the descendants of a sibling of James
Alfred Gallup. WILLIAM, b. 1862 in WI, died 1923 in
Los Angeles; he married OLIVE (?) about 1883, and had
Sadie b. 1884, Lillie b. 1888, Rose Marie b. 1892,
Dora b. 1894, Clara b. 1896(d. early), Alfred b. abt.
1899 (d. early), Alice b. abt 1899, Allison (may be a
boy) b. 1904 and Ura b. abt 1905. (All of these
children disappeared by or shortly after their
father's death, so I don't know if they went back to
Canada or since they were mostly girls, I lost them
thru marriages) Does any of this ring any bells?
Any help would be appreciated.
