Subject: New here...searching for WORLEY Info
Date: Sun, 12 Mar 2006 03:04:53 -0600
Hello,
My name is Vicki Jane Evans and I am a descendant of the WORLEY Family of Dahlonega.... Lumpkin county...and beyond!
My GGreat grandparents were Martin Van Buren WORLEY and Martha Asenath ALFORD.
GG grandparents were James H WORLEY and Mildred DONALDSON.
I have a LOT of questions about this family ! If anyone in this group is familiar with them, I would love to communicate with you.
ANY and ALL help is appreciated, no matter how small you think it may be.
One burning question that I have in mind right now is...Where is Mildred ( Milley) Donaldson Worley buried? I have been to Dahlonega and seen the grave of My GG Grandfather James H Worley At Mt Hope Cemetery...along with other family members, but have not been able to find the grave of My GG Grandmother Milley. These WORLEY folks were very prominent members of the community, she in fact was one of the founding members of the Methodist church there. It seems hard for me to think that she would be buried beside her husband and there not be some sort of marker for her. I know she died in Dahlonega, in 1880 as there is a copy of her obit In Andrew Cain's book, and also the I remember Dahlonega Books. Would she have been buried somewhere else? I hope someone can solve this mystery for me !
Thanks, Vicki J Evans
