A sort time back we were looking for some information on Mrs. J.S. Rogers.
Judy Gresham sends this from Marion History book by Nettie Powell. I found this very interesting as Doyle is mentioned frequently in the old Schley papers. Now we know how it came to have it's name.
Harris,
Weren't we looking for information about Mrs. J. S. Rogers a while back. In Nettie Powells book I just found this.
"In 1889 a post office was established in Wigginsville and the name of the village was changed to Doyle in honor of Mrs. J. S. Rogers, who, before her marriage was Miss Jennie Doyle White. The district was also named Doyle>"
