Dear Fellow Listers:

I am helping my new son-in-law, Cliff Giles, research his family tree and
have traced a part of his father's line to your county.

We are trying to find more information on the parents of George Layfield b.
@1815 who married Winnie (Mary) Martin b. 1818 South Carolina and had several
children in your county before moving to Taylor Co in the late 1850s. Do you
also have any information on hsi wife's family? We also suspect there was a
child who was born and died between 1853 and 1859 and wondered if you might have
a record of him/her.

Also, do you happen to know of a marriage record for this couple in Marion
County--probably about 1832 or so? It appears they may have married in their
teens because of the birth of their first child Georgia Ann in 1834.
