Glenalta Scraps
Valentine time is here again. Timid love can speak and sign no name.
A hop was given at the residence of Mr. W.I. Shearer last Friday night. The
beauty and intellect of Glenalta was well represented.
Mr. J.F. Bartlett and Master Mack Bartlett, of Columbus, spent some time in
our town last week.
Miss Donie Clark is spending some time in Columbus. We hope she will have a
pleasant time and soon return.
There is a valentine party on foot, and if it dont stumble we are going to
have it. Miss Emma Chambliss has hold of the ribbons at present and no
doubt will guide to a success.
The Glenalta Alliance has a large amount of Vice-President in the person of
J.C. Royals. It has one miller by professon, three farmers by name and one
county school teacher and we tried to get a hard shell but we slipped.
Jim Turner, col., was caught by Mr. W.T. Bartlett one night last week in the
act of stealing a load of cotton seed on the McMichael plantation. Jim was
captured but afterwards gave leg bail and went where the woodbine twineth.
There ought to be a whipping post for small stealing as there is plenty of
it going on to give the post sufficient patronage.
