Obituary of Daisy L. Cox Hurst as written on page 5 of "The Camilla Enterprise"
dated 20 Dec 1957. Camilla, Georgia.

Mrs. Daisy Cox Hurst, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 17th at Howard Hospital
in Pelham, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Thursday,
December 19th, at 3:00 P. M., from the Branchville Methodist Church, with the
Rev. W. J. Stanford officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery with
Bramlett Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were grandsons, E. J. Culbreth,
Jack Sanders, Gene Sanders, M. O. Kemp, J. M. Kemp and nephew, U. A. Kemp, Jr.
Mrs. Hurst was born in Mitchell County, March 8, 1881. She was the daughter of
the late James M. and Aura Belle Galloway Cox. Her husband, Allison Hurst,
preceded her in death eleven years ago. She was an active member of the
Branchville Methodist Church unitil ill health forced her retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. O. A. Teasley of Macon, Mrs. M. A. Kemp
of Camilla and Mrs. Frances Voorhies of Westmoreland, California; one son,
Allison Lamar of Rt. 2, Camilla; one sister, Mrs. J. R. Payne of Pelham; one
brother, Wiley Galloway of Atlanta; eight grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren.
