Vicki,

I'm sure that we are discussing the same individual. I
have John's father down as William M. Headrick,
because his son (WAL's) death certificate lists him as
William M. Headrick. Also, I have an old photo, the
caption of which refers to him as William Mathew
Headrick. Both of these sources mention Mary C.
Emmert/Emit.

"'The Connection' of East Tennessee" (book) lists him
as William H. Headrick, I know. I don't know if
someone misread the middle initial, or if he had
additional given names. The picture of our William
Mathew Headrick is on my FTM website. To view it, go
to Southern Muse ( http://www.southernmuse.com/ ) and
click on the link: Families of North Georgia and
Alabama. Scroll down and click on the link that says
"William Mathew Headrick, born c.1825." Have you found
him listed as William H. Headrick in any documents, or
only online?

Originally, I used the above-mentioned book as my sole
source for William (H. or Mathew) Headrick's parents
as Jacob and Mary (Polly) Rice Headrick. Since then, I
have found Murray County land deeds showing that heirs
of Jacob and Polly Headrick (both deceased), including
heir, William Headrick (should be our William H/M
Headrick) divided the SW

I have nothing on Mary Caylor (John's wife) except the
marriage date and location.
