Hello Gail,
I am related to the Johnson clan too. I have been collecting information,
mostly on the Johnsons after they arrived in Texas for the last two years.
My goal is to find a place in the tree for my greatgrandfather, Jesse Larkin
Johnson. Family oral history states that he is related to the "LBJ" line of
Johnsons. Time, place and other family marriages indicate that this is true,
I just haven't found the proof.
He was born 2-23-1850 ( unsure of location) m. Lucy Cathareen Dearing b.
6-26-1854 in GA or Cherokee Co. ALA. Jesse died 2-16-1916 in Ft. Worth, TX.
The couple married in Gonzales, Gonzales Co. TX. Many of the Johnsons from
Oglethorpe, Greene and Henry Counties GA settled in Gonzales, Caldewell,
Blanco Counties and then later moved to Ft. Worth.
Lucy's brother Joseph Lemuel Dearing married Mary Ann Johnson in Gonzales
TX, she was the daughter of John Leonard Johnson (son of Jesse Johnson and
Lucy Webb Barnett). This couple also went to Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co. TX.
Do you happen to have a Jesse Larkin Johnson in your data?
