Still looking for information regarding Richard G. BASS married to
Mary Ann ROBBINS (ROBINS). Both are buried at Friendship Primitive
Baptist Church.
I have information from their marriage downward, including Richard's
service record in the CSA. What I really need is proof of their
parentage.
Richard is listed in the 1850 Paulding census in the household of
Richard Bass age 60. Others in the household:
Patience Bass age 70 born NC
Mary Bass age 65 "
Sarah Bass age 50 "
Calen Bass age 35 "
Jacob Bass age 19 born GA
Louisa Bass age 16 "
Richard Bass age 14 "
A Richard Bass was enumerated in the 1840 Merriwether County Census and
is believed to be the above head of household in 1850 Paulding.
Question: Who were all of those adult women?
In the history of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church, which was constituted
on August 31, 1851 a Sara BASS and Calan BASS were among the original
members.
The brother of Mary Ann ROBINS, John ROBINS, was listed as an elder.
John is buried in the cemetary, but there is no record of his wife
being buried there.
A list member was kind enough to write that it is possible the cemetary
was damaged during the Civil War, either intentional vandalism, or
the result of local skirmishes.
Does anyone on this list have any information regarding the BASS/ROBINS
families or information regarding where I might find records of the
church?
I'd be more than happy to share what I have.
Thanks!
Carole
