Hello,

The oil jail or "Calaboose" is now owned by the Paulding County Historical Society & Museum. You can find the jail behind the museum today. The tax records were removed before the jail was relocated for preservation.

Much of the tax records were lost to water damage and rot. The age of the records did not help the matter. Attempts have been made to transcribe the tax records but water damage, fading, and decay of the many pages have resulted in futile efforts. Future attempts will be made.

For tax, records look to the books written by the late Judge Foster.
