Carolyn-- A year ago, we ran across the gravesite of Charles E. McAdams in the Smyrna Methodist cemetery, and have wondered how he tied into the family. It's interesting that he was your g-grandfather, even though he died at age 19. If his father's given name was indeed John, we have two possibilities for you. 1) John B. McAdams, born 1837 in GA, son of Bluford and Jane McAdams, married Sarah F. Allgood on 15 Feb 1866 probably in Paulding County, known children of Alice (b. 1866-1867) and Bluford (b. 1868-1869). 2) John ? McAdams, born 1857 in Paulding County, son of James and Martha McAdams. The latter seems somewhat unlikely, since he would have fathered Charles at age 17; however, he was known to have lived within a few miles of that cemetery. You should be able to determine whether it was either of these from census records-- good luck.
