Hello!
We are Jenny & Geoff Gape.
We live at Salisbury .Wiltshire.U. K.
We are researching the "Family Tree",and have so far managed
to trace
our Gape's back to Portesham in Dorset. U.K. to about 1700-1720
There are lots of branches to the tree,which spreads from
Portesham,
to Puncknowle (pronounced Punnole/Punnel) to Abbotsbury ,to Eype
Symondsbury ,Bridport.

Geoff's father was CECIL GAPE M to LUCY GIBBS at Beaminster.
Dorset 1928.
He was the son of HENRY(Harry) GAPE M to ELLEN GODDARD 1902.
His father was WALTER GAPE(1st landlord of the New Inn at Eype)
He was M to ADELAIDE GOULDING 1865 and was the son of JOHN GAPE
who had M firstly MARY NORTHOVER 1840 and after her death,
then M
ELIZABETH NORTHOVER 1860.
He was a shoemaker living at Puncknowle,and his father was
another JOHN
GAPE who's wife was DOROTHY VINCENT M 1812.
JOHN was the son of SAMUEL GAPE M to EDITH CHEYNEY at
Puncknowle 1774
Samuel was the son of yet another JOHN GAPE M to MARTHA SYMS at
Portesham 1741.His parents were JOHN and ELIZABETH GAPE of
Portesham.

Anything earlier than this has not been verified,
We would love to hear from anyone out there who is researching
this family or
has any links.
