Douglas Jackson Floyd, 67, 613 N. College St., passed away Wednesday, July 23.
He was born Aug. 9, 1935 in Haralson County and was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Cedartown, where he was a former deacon and Sunday School
member. He was past president of the Cedartown Optimist Club and former member
of the Bulldog Club as well as a former president of St. Josephs Hospital
Heart Transplant Association. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents,
Andrew Jackson and Corine Rutledge Floyd. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann
Jeffers Floyd; sons, Steve and Tommy Floyd; daughters Sandra McNally and Jan
Floyd; sister, Dorothy Stevens; and six grandchildren. Memorial services were
held Sunday, July 27 in the First Baptist Church with the Dr. David Taylor
officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either
the First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association. The Lester C.
Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown Standard,
