Mrs. Anne Gillespie, aged 86 years, 1 month and 27 days, died in Gordon
County, GA., at the residence of her son-in-law, Rev. W.P. Jones, the 6th
of August last......"My mother was born in Guilford County, N.C., in the
days of the Revolution, joined the Presbyterian Church, later the M.E.
Church......R.M. Jones.
The book, SOME GEORGIA COUNTY RECORDS, VOL. 6, @1993, compiled by Rev.
Silas Emmett Lucas and published by Southern Historical Press, Inc., PO
Box 1267, Greenville, SC 29602-1267. ISBN #0-89308-686-X.
My ggg-grandparents, William Martin Garrett and Jenny Justice were
married in Rabun County in 1832. My gg-grandfather, William Riley Garrett
was born there. Wm. Martin and Jenny Garrett had 13 children, 1 daughter
and 12 sons, and they all survived to adulthood, which I think is
remarkable. The family lore is Wm. Martin's father was an orphan and
raised by someone by the name of Martin, so he named his son, Wm. Martin;
but I haven't ever found anything about either one when they were young.
I don't know where the story started, but there was nothing said about it
until this past year.

This is what I have on the children of Mary Elvira "Polly" and Pleasant
Watts. It is from
Watts descendants as well as records from Rabun Co., GA and other counties
and states but
it is always possible there are mistakes.
