I am searching for UK ancestors and decendents of my grandfather. Various sources list the family name as Gardener - birth certificate, Gardner onimmigration and death records and Gardiner in 1881 census record of mother and sisters as Gardiner.

My grandfather, Thomas Bromley John Gard(e)ner was born 18 Nov 1871 at 10 Georges Place, Upper Marsh, Lambeth Surrey and died at Ottawa, ON Canada on 24 Aug 1952. He emigrated to Canada in 1906 with three children, Thomas, Frances & Rose.

His parents were Thomas Gard(e)ner and Rebecca Ann Wilson who were married 19 May 1869 at Lambeth Surrey. He married (date unknown) Eliza Louisa Wrench

His sister Rebecca Jane Gard(e)ner was born 30 May 1871. The 1881 census shows the widowed mother, Rebecca, sister Rebecca(10) and two other sisters Amy, age 7 & Isabella A. age 6, living at 4 Waxwell Terrace, Lambeth, Surrey. The surnames are spelt Gardiner.
