Dear List members;
I have some Gardner's in my lines that must have been dropped off on this
planet by some passing aliens. These Gardner's are from the
Lawrence/Jefferson Davis/Covington counties in Mississippi. My grandmother
was Fannie Elizabeth Gardner, b. 7/12/1898, supposedly in Mississippi. Her
parents were Joe or Joseph Ennis Gardner and a Pruddy or Trudy Mitchell. Now
these folks were prolific, and took the Lord literally when he said go forth
and multiply. They had 12 children, Ethel, Mertyl, Bertha Lee, Claude,
Hildred, Idell, J.L., Jeanie, Joe Allen, Lillian, Mildred, and Fannie
Elizabeth. The last know location of this family was in or around Bassfield
Mississippi, in the 1920's. I have searched all the census records
available, and done all the basic stuff to try to locate them. There are
stories in the family lines that they came by way of Oklahoma, and that
there was some Cherokee Indian blood in the line, but without tracing
backwards it is hard to substantiate. Joe Ennis Gardner may also have had a
brother named Tom, that lived in the same area. So if any of you Gardner
researchers have any clues, or might know this line let me know. No need to
be ashamed of them, even if they are from Mississippi.
