I'm stuck on my great grandfather as well. John W. (Wesley?) GARDNER was
born in 1850, maybe in AL, AR or LA. Spent part of married life around FT.
PAYNE, AL before moving to AR. All these years I thought he was born and
raised in Arkansas only to find out from a cousin that he'd come from
Alabama. Then I find in my mother's family Bible that he was born in
Louisiana. So somewhere in the South sprang forth John Wesley Gardner. So
far I know that he had 2 daughters, Martha (my Grandmother) and Susan
(Susie married Monroe Dodson), and may have had a son named Jeffery. Any
of this sound familiar? If so, please contact me. Cyndia
