All of the children were born in Chesterfield Co., South Carolina. Their
names and dates of birth were taken from a Bible belonging to Clifton Nelson
Gardner, a son of Hattie Gardner. Mary and Lavicia were sisters. Their
parents were Jacob George Washington Burr and Rachel Sellers. Mary was born
about 1826 in South Carolina and Lavicia(Levecia,Lavisa) was born abt July
1834 in South Carolina.
John N. Gardner served in the Civil War in the Confederacy between 1861
and 1865 in Company B, 8th S.C. Infantry. The 1880 S.C. Census lists his
occupation as a farmer. According to the census records his parents were
born in S.C.
Any information about the Gardner family or related families would be
appreciated!
