LaGrange Nancy "Inez" Gardner, 91, died Tuesday at
Lenoir Memorial Hospital. A native of Wayne County, she
was the daughter of the late James Henry Gardner and
Rosa Lee Thompson Gardner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at
Thompson-Best Cemetery.
She is survived by her sister, Melba G. Anderson of
Goldsboro; brothers, George Gardner of Goldsboro and
J.H. Gardner of Angier; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Ezra
(Mary) Pate, Mrs. Brantley (Carrie) Speight, Mrs. Hubert
(Tempie) Best, Mrs. Clyde (Fannie) Cox, Mrs. Helen
Heath and Mrs. Alvin (Hazel) Wade; and brothers,
Tillman Gardner, Roland Gardner, Lyman Gardner, Cecil
Gardner and Herod Gardner.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Bertha Mae Gardner

Goldsboro Miss Bertha Mae Gardner, 89, of
967 Church of God Road, died Tuesday at
Britthaven Nursing Home.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter
of the late George Gardner and Annie Williams
Gardner. Miss Gardner was a home-maker and a
member of Patetown Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at
Patetown Church of God with Rev. R.N. Williford
and Rev. Alton Childers officiating. Burial will
follow in the Howell Family Cemetery.
She is survived by her sister, Mable Gardner Howell
of Patetown; special cousins, Maxine Sasser and Hazel
Beaman of Goldsboro; and several nieces
and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at 7-9 p.m.
at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence
of Mable Gardner Howell, 967 Church
of God Road, Goldsboro.
