The Tri-County Journal June 4, 1997
Marion Jones of the Dixie Serenaders Traditional Fiddle Band has been notified
that he will be inducted into the Fiddler's Hall of Fame of Georgia.

Jones, an 86 year old Ellaville resident, has been playing for 73 years--since
1924 when he was 14. Jones entertained during the depression years while a
member of the CCC Camps and while serving in the Army in World War II. He is
still playing with a band at festivals and various events.

The induction will be in November in Atlanta. Ray Melton, a promoter of
prominent musicians, introduced the fiddler to officials of the Hall of Fame.
