Also found in the Maner Family:Mary Maner(daughter of Samuel Maner, and Mary
May Maner), b Jan 25, 1785 d Oct 11, 1827, married in 1802
William Henry Robert, brother of John Hancock Robert. They had a son and
three daughters. Question: do you have the names of the son and three
daughters?

Hey, Guys,

This is very interesting, and something that I've not seen before. I
have been at a loss for many years as to the parentage of my g-g-grandmother,
Mary Ann Roberts Lovett Murray, (b. 10 May 1819, d. 17 Jan 1879). She first
married John Forbes Lovett, (b. 3 Jun 1795, d. 7 Jan 1851), and had the
following children: Joseph "Crawford" Lovett (b. 1834, d. after 1858)), Mary
"Virginia" Lovett (b.29 Jan 1837, d. 30 Nov 1852), Hamilton L. Lovett, (b. 16 Dec
1839, d. 29 Apr 1847), and Amanda Wetumpka Lovett, (b. 2 Feb 1842, d. 24 Oct
1924) who married Seaborn Ferdinand Rackley. Mary Ann married second,
Dempsey Murray, (b. 1829) and had Seaborn Washington LaFayette "Fate" Murray, (b.
14 Jan 1858, d. 31 Oct 1938).
Now what makes all of this interesting, is that Fate Murray's first wife
was Rosa Hurst, and I believe that they were somehow related (Rosa's mother
was Dora Lambert, and her grandmother was Sarah Streigles). Also, it appears
that Mary Ann Roberts Lovett Murray lived in the Old Lovett House (next to
Mickey Lovett's garage), and this is where the Marquis de la Fayette stayed
when he came through Screven County in 1823. So I think that this particular
family of Roberts were Huguenots, originally named "Rhobert". This also
explains Fate Murray's name. I do know that Mary's first husband, John F. Lovett,
was a direct descendant of the Bonnells who were Huguenots as well, and the
Lovett House may have been on the original Anthony Bonnell land grant. Hope
to hear what all of you have to say about this. Thanks in advance for any
assistance. Happy hunting!

Scottie
