John Adams unfortunately picked up a virus in his computer, so he wanted me
to let you know that he is temporarily off line. He'll be taking his
computer into the shop tomorrow....so hopefully he'll soon be back. He's
hoping that he didn't lose his address book!

He warned us all to be careful about attachments! Many times the person
sending the e-mail to you, has no idea that the virus attachment is there
and being sent. This is exactly what happened in John's case. He knew the
individual, and opened the attachment without thinking.

I'm sure you're all enjoying the Jan Taylor Tracer.
Did you find any of your family listed in the WWI list of registrants? It
was interesting to read about the first Selective Service May 1917 and the
Taylor County Board that conducted it.

Reading the diary Jan-Jun 1918 gave the feelings of how much the War
affected all families, and even young girls who were so aware of the boys
their own age in such danger. Correspondence from home was so important!

I find it remarkable that John can find so much material EACH month to make
up the 26 pages. Obviously he works hard at this, and covers such a wide
range of materials---trying to provide something for all of us!
