Subject: [GATHOMAS] Battle of Old Bethel -Reenactments Saturday & Sunday

The Battle of Old Bethel will be held at Old Bethel Historic Church site.
Coming from Thomasville, take Ga. Hwy 122 east, proceed through Pavo, watch
for blinking caution light at the Sand Hill Community Store/Citgo Service
Station and turn right on the first dirt road just beyond the caution light.
Watch for road signs.

The event begins with a Confederate Memorial service honoring two war
veterans buried at Old Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 11a.m
Saturday. James B. Waters(native of Coffee Co) and Peter O. Wing(native of
Maine). At 2:30 p.m. a battle will be re-enacted and at 4 p.m., stories will
be shared in the church sanctuary. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a candlelight
memorial service to honor all 47 Confederate Veterans and one Revolutionary
War Soldier interred at Old Bethel Cemetery.

Sunday's Church service begins at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m. a battle
re-enactment will close the weekend activities.
