Surname: Alford, Holloway, Black
-------------------------
Dear Bridget,
The two big families, Black & Trice, that I descend from did/do live in
Upson Cnty. The Holloways came in when Sallie Black, b. 1748 (aka Sara
Sallie V. Black) married Patrick G. Holloway (1875). Their children were
Ruby, Josie, Benjamin Tyler (Dock), Tony, Gip, Paul and Jim. I haven't
researched this line at all so don't know if you can find them in the Upson
records.
I do know that some of my Ga relatives were "swarthy" or that they "walked
out the door tan." I don't know if there is Afro-Am or Nat Am blood in
my line (I'm white). It has not been proven, but I read that Dock Holloway
was part Choctaw Indian. I'm stumped, and if there's any connection, maybe
you could help me.
Good luck in your search.
Kindly,
Sharon
