Subject: [GAUPSON-L] Ex-Slave Form A marriages

We are very, very lucky to have another gift from David E. Paterson...who
has already provided us with such great research data.
This one is on-line at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaupson/marafor.htm
The Form A marriage licenses 1875-1877 for African-American marriages in
Upson County (63 records in all)
The Form A licenses contained more information than usual. Such things as
place of birth, age, names of both mother and father were asked on this
License.
The marriages of whites for this brief time period is also available in the
Upson Co. Court House in loose form.
It would be wonderful if anyone is able to locate and transcribe the
Marriages of White, as that bundle of licenses might contain some data to
help someone get through a brick wall!
Take a look.on line...and I hope that someone is helped by this material.
We are so grateful to David for sharing this work, which must have taken
him many hours to compile.
