-------------------------

Othniel Weaver (my GGGGGF) was born about 1750 in Anson or Bladen, NC and
his property on Hill's Creek eventually ended up in present day Chesterfield
County, SC (previously Craven, Cheraw and St. Davids districts) before
1784. He removed to the Little River area of Wilkes County, GA by 1787
and was a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church. He was recorded at various
times in Washington, Baldwin and Wilkinson counties before settling in
Morgan where he died in 1817. Othniel was a pioneer Baptist preacher in
early Georgia history along with his step son-in-law, Jesse Mercer and
many other Weaver relatives. Family tradition holds that his parents were
Aaron and Hannah Weaver, who were killed by Bloody Bill Cunningham in the
Massacre at Cloud's Creek in Edgefield County, SC in November 1781. He
married first, Sarah HOLLEY the widow of Joel CHIVERS about 1783 in Chesterfield,
SC, who had these CHIVERS children: Thomas 1768, Joel 1770, Larkin 1771,
Sabrina 1772, Jane 1774 and Jamimah 1776. Together Othniel and Sarah had
these WEAVER children: Julius 1785, Hannah 1787, Rachael 1789, William
1791, John 1793, Jane 1795, Lovina 1797 and Jonathan 1800. He married secondly,
Susannah JONES the widow of Thomas HUGHEY about 1807 in Wilkes, GA, who
had these HUGHEY children: John 1793, Betsey Elizabeth 1795, Mary 1798,
Aley 1799, William Dixon 1801, Joseph A. 1802, Thomas 1806. Together Othniel
and Susannah had these WEAVER children: Jesse 1808, James 1809, Nancy 1810
and Isaac Suttles 1812 (my GGGGF). These children married into many of
the early Georgia families in and around Wilkes County, GA. These are a
few of the related families: ADAIR, ADCOCK, AYCOCK, ANDERSON, AYERS, ANDREW,
