Thank you for your replies. I will keep the discussion going for a short
while.

Melanie, thanks for the info. I printed your info from your earlier
Genforum listing and was confused when it had said that Benjamin Franklin
had married Martha Webb and had Lucy 1874. (I had known that my Benjamin had
married Elizabeth and that Lucy was not born until 1875.) (I see now that
it was just a typo.)

At the same time, also on the Genforum, Aubrey Simpson was also telling me
that Benjamin Franklin was a son of George and Didemma (not listing George
at all-which I privately questioned).

An additional source of confusion came from Jeanine Jones that states that
"Wilkinson County Historical Collections" Marriage records Wilkinson County,
GA states that B. F. Brack married Elizabeth Coleman on Aug 30, 1866 AND
lists George Brack and Didemma Cannon Mason as his parents.

My FIRST question---Does anyone have access to this above source? I would
be interested to know if the note about B. F. being a son of George and
Didemma is an actual documentation from B. F., or if it is a commentary
added by the author of the collection. I have learned that just because it
is written down, doesn't make it so......

A B. F. Brack (Age 35)is on the 1870 Wilkinson Co census with Elizabeth (age
25) and Mary age 4, and Fannie age 2. (The Mary I knew abt was b. 1873).
If this is my Benjamin F. then he would have been born circa 1835. (This
would put him as being born 2 yrs. prior to Jacob Brack who was from
George's marriage before Didemma. As of yet I have seen nothing documenting
this, but it would seem probable to me that there would be more than 1 child
in the marriage.) Now, I cannot say with certainty yet that this is my B. F.
Brack and my Elizabeth....so take this with a grain of salt! I am just
throwing what I have out there for discussion.

In addition, it has been suggested by someone that maybe my Benjamin was
instead the son of William Brack that married Mary Dean on July 28, 1825. A
Benjamin is in this household listed as age 11 on the Laurens Co. Census
year of 1850. Is this Benjamin in anyone's line? As it has been stated
that Benjamin F. was a young teenage soldier in the Civil War, this age
would be appropriate. Does anyone know if military records from this era
lists parents?

I appreciate your suggestions, please excuse the delay in responses, but I
am on digest mode.

Thanks
S.
