MARY ROSS, b. ca 1829, was daughter of JAMES ROSS (b. 6 Mar 1788; d. 3 april
1876, Worth Co., GA) and HESTER HALL, (b. 31 Oct 1797, d. 4 May 1879)
James Ross and Hester Hall married 31 Oct. 1816 in Hester Halls's parents'
home in Wilkinson Cnty., GA. [Records found in tin box handed down through
descendants and 1812 Pension papers of James Ross] .
Mary Ross married 18 July 1852 to William P. Williams [Wilkinson County
marriages]. He was b. ca 1826, d. ca 1897 and was son of Richard Williams
and his second wife Martha Blackborn. [Data sent to me by descendants]
Children of Mary Ross and William P. Williams were:
1. Hester Williams, b. 1853, d. 1937, m. Jeff Cannon
2. James Franklin Williams, b. 1857, d. 1907, m. Georgia Butler
3. Luther R. Williams, b. 1860, d. 1861
4. Mary J. F. Williams, b. 1864, d. 1864
5. Richard Arrey Williams, b. 10 Sept. 1866, d. 3 Oct 1914, married Ella
Launa Davidson.
WILLIAM P. WILLIAMS was Pvt., Co. F., 3 Regt., GA and a Civil War Veteran.
A descendant's address...Barbara B. Chastain, 206 Bolling Rd., N. E.,
Atlanta, GA 30305 (I don't know if she is still at the same address.)
Another descendant of Mary and William Williams: Dorothy Helton Taylor, 406
Cloverdale Drive, Dublin, GA 31021
Your MARY ROSS was a sister to my great-great grandfather, William Daniel
Ross, Sr...Civil War Veteran, of whom I have his letters.
