Does anyone have information on the family of James Allen, who is on the 1840 census with his wife and 5 children?
I am looking for the family of John J. Allen (born GA about 1829). He married in Bibb County in 1853.
His obituary, in 1877, says he was "well known in Macon, having been in business a long time in that city". I can't find him on the 1850 census there, so I am looking for him nearby.
