I have not posted to this group for some time but wonder if the names
detailed above have re-surfaced in anybody's research?

I continue to chase any reference to RAAFF, however minor. The earliest
reference is to NICHOLAS RAAFF who died in South Africa c.1830. Where did
he originate from? He was married to Maria Louisa MEYER (1791-1851). Where
did she originate from and who are her parents and wider family group? Most
importantly, who were their children?

I have received some tantalising snippets of information over the last year
or so, but need more to complete the jigsaw puzzle of my ancestors (just
like most readers of this newsgroup!!!)

Any help would be most appreciated as I am trying to get this information
together in time for my father's birthday (early September). He knows
nothing of this project and little of his family history, so if you can
assist, please do - it will be the best gift I can give a 78-year old!
