In this area that name is not familiar. The name most sound like that is
BAES and there are several familys with that name living over there. As
you write Hooglede, I think your info is not recent.
Try following internetsite there you find 3 links that can help you. You
can consult the telephone guide off Belgium. You have a link that shows you
the geographic distribution of a name and you can lookup who did investigat
