Ellie,

This group is ment for genealogical researches in the BENELUX (i.e. Belgium,
the Netherlands and Luxemburg).

In these countries the spoken languages are Dutch, French, Letzebuergs,
German, Frisian and some dialects (note: there's no Belgian language,
Belgium is bilingual, they speak either dutch (flemmish) or french). For
this reason most of the messages are in these languages (the most actually
in Dutch because this is the most active in this group).

This needn't be reason to unsubscribe though. Most (or at least a lot of)
subscribers to this list are capable and willing enough to translate
messages of interest, whenever you see a name or place or anything else of
interest for you, just ask for a translation of the context. You can always
post messages in english, no doubt they will be understood and whenever a
reply is sent it probably will be in your language, if not someone can
translate it for you.

Try posting a message with your questions and enquiries and wait for the
reactions.

Succes and ciao from the Netherlands,

Lex Bennink
