Hello,
I found two explanations for TALMAN in Dutch
TAL MAN = solicitor (this function I see noted from about 1500's and later became also a family name.
TAEL MAN = taal (language) = interpreter
Sorry but I have no info concerning where your Ta(u)lman came from.

SALOMON(s)/SOLOMON(s), Isaac - from Hamburg or Europe arrived Ceylon (Sri Lanka) abt 1750s.
BUULTJENS family name in Cleve/Kleefsland/Gelderland and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) after 1746.
"NOOTENBOOM" location in Cleefsland abt 1700 where Willem BUULTJENS (1715-1791) came from.
FISHER, Meir - BIALA (Poland) (1880s-1943)
PUTERMAN, Meir - BIALAPODLASKA (Poland) (1880s-1944)
